The New Westminster Royals were a Canadian ice hockey team from New Westminster , British Columbia . The team played in the Pacific Coast Hockey Association from 1911 to 1914 .
history
The New Westminster Royals franchise was one of the three founding members of the Pacific Coast Hockey Association in the 1912 season, along with the Vancouver Millionaires and Victoria Aristocrats . In her first season she was able to win the league title straight away. In the seasons 1912/13 and 1913/14 , the Royals took second place with the same number of participants. The team was then relocated to Portland , Oregon , for the 1914/15 season and continued playing in the PCHA under the name Portland Rosebuds .
From 1945 to 1959, a team of the same name played in the Pacific Coast Hockey League and the Western Hockey League . Several teams in the Canadian Junior League British Columbia Hockey League called themselves New Westminster Royals.
