Newcomerstown is a village in Tuscarawas County , Ohio , United States , and is 85 miles east-northeast of Columbus . In 1900 Newcomerstown was home to 2,659 people. At the 2000 census, the population was 4,008.

Well known baseball player Cy Young lived in Newcomerstown for some time and died here in 1955.

Newcomer Towns geographical coordinates be 40 ° 16 '  N , 81 ° 36'  W . The place is on the Tuscarawas River . Historically, the place was also known under the name Des Nouveaux Venus . The place is south of US Highway 36 at the intersection of two previous railroad lines.
