Newbury Township is located in the center of Geauga County about 50 kilometers from downtown Cleveland . The area of the township is 74 square kilometers. There are industrial and commercial enterprises located on Ohio State Route 87 , which runs east to west through the township.

Kinetico Incorporated has its headquarters in Newbury , and Saint-Gobain Crystals and Detectors , a global company, is largely managed from here.
history
Newbury Township was part of the Connecticut Western Reserve . Originally, Lake County and Geauga County were united in a single county, after the establishment of Geauga County this was divided into 16 townships. 1802 Newbury was the fifth township in the county, which was set up as a separate administrative unit . In 1810, the first settlers came from the eastern states of the United States, mainly from Connecticut and Massachusetts . Newbury was named after Newburyport , Massachusetts.
