Newport is a minority town in the Borough of Telford and Wrekin and the ceremonial county of Shropshire in England. It is 6 miles north of Telford and 12 miles west of Stafford . The population is 15,828.

The city won the Britain in Bloom horticultural competition with gold-plated silver and was the first site in England to win the Heart of England Gold Prize six times in a row.
