Henson Park, which has a seating capacity of 30,000, has been home to the club since 1933 .

history

The Newtown Jets were one of the founding members of the New South Wales Rugby Football League (NSWRFL) in 1908 . In 1910 the Jets won their first championship title. In addition, because of the better placement in the regular season, a 4-4 draw in the Grand Final against the South Sydney Rabbitohs was enough . In 1929 Newtown was defeated by the dominant Rabbitohs in a new edition of the final with 10:30, but was able to win the second championship in 1933 by 18: 5 against the St. George Dragons . Ten years later, a 34: 7 against the North Sydney Bears was the third title.

After the Second World War , the jets could no longer build on previous successes. Although they won the Minor Premiership in 1954 and 1955 , they lost both times again to the South Sydney Rabbitohs in the Grand Final . The tenth and final entry into the final came in 1981 when the Parramatta Eels had to admit defeat at 11:20. In 1983 the club was excluded from the NSWRFL due to financial difficulties and continued to play in the lower leagues. A feature film entitled "The Final Winter" was made about the decline of the jets . Since 2008 Newtown has been participating in the second-rate New South Wales Cup .
