Ni Zhifu ( Chinese  倪志福 , W.-G. Ni Chih-fu * May 1933 in Shanghai , † 24. April 2013 in Beijing ) was a Chinese trade union functionary and politician of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), which among other things between 1977 and was a member of the CCP Political Bureau in 1987 and chaired the All-China Trade Union Confederation from 1977 to 1993 . He also served as vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress between April 1983 and March 1993, and as such was one of the vice-presidents of the People's Republic of China. He was also secretary of the Tianjin Party Committee between 1984 and 1987 .

Life

Ni Zhifu completed vocational training in the Detai machine factory in Shanghai from 1950 to 1953 and then started working as a cutting machine operator in the machine factory No. 618 Yongding in Beijing in June 1953 . In 1958 he became a member of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). While working at machine factory No. 618, he developed a drilling machine named after him , which had significantly improved the performance and service life of drills, and was awarded the honorary title of model worker for his services in 1959. He later received the National Inventor Award of the State Commission for Science and Technology in 1964 for the drill he developed and in 1966 the gold medal of the World Intellectual Property Organization .

After the Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution was declared over at the Chinese Communist Party Congress (April 1 to 24, 1969) , Ni became a member of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). It belonged to this body when it was re-elected at the Xth Party Congress (August 24-28, 1973), the XI. Party Congress (12th to 18th August 1977) and the XII. Party Congress (September 1 to 12, 1982), the XIII. Party Congress (October 25 to November 2, 1987), the XIV. Party Congress (October 12 to 19, 1992) and XV. Congress (September 12-19, 1997) until November 14, 2002. From 1973 to 1976 he was vice-chairman of the Beijing Revolutionary Committee and from 1976 to 1977 Second Secretary of the Shanghai City Party Committee.

On the XI. At the Congress, Ni Zhifu also became a member of the CCP Political Bureau on August 18, 1977, and was a member of the Communist Party's highest governing body until November 2, 1987. On the IX. Trade Union Congress in October 1978 he was chairman of the All China Trade Union Confederation and in this capacity at the X. Trade Union Congress in October 1983 and at the XI. Union Congress confirmed in October 1988. He held this office until his replacement by Wei Jianxing on the XII. Trade union congress in October 1993. Between October 1978 and October 1993 he was secretary of the party leadership group of the All-China Trade Union Confederation. Furthermore, in 1979 he became Deputy Minister in the State Commission for the Mechanical Engineering Industry. He also served as vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress between April 1983 and March 1993 and, as such, was one of the Vice Presidents of the People's Republic of China. He also took over from Chen Weida as secretary of the Tianjin Party Committee in October 1984 and held this position until September 1987, when he was succeeded by Li Ruihuan .
