Niccola Bedini

Niccola Bedini , also Nicola Bedini (born April 14, 1801 in Tagliacozzo , † January 8, 1864 in Rome ) was an Italian Roman Catholic clergyman and bishop of Terracina, Sezze and Priverno .

Life

He received the in Rome on April 17, 1824 sacrament of Holy Orders . On September 2 of the same year he received his doctorate from the Collegio Romano as Doctor theologiae . He was an economist , then rector and professor of logic , metaphysics and canon law at the Apollinaria for 40 years . In 1839 he entered the service of the Curia and in 1840 was appointed examiner for the Roman clergy.

Pope Pius IX appointed him on December 19, 1853 bishop of Terracina, Sezze and Priverno. He was ordained bishop on January 8, 1854, by the Cardinal Bishop of Albano , Costantino Patrizi Naro ; Co-consecrators were Archbishop Antonio Ligi-Bussi OFMConv and Archbishop Pio Bighi . On January 30 of the same year, Niccola Bedini became Papal Assistant to the Throne . On September 29, 1862, he resigned himself to the dioceses of Terracina, Sezze and Priverno, which he led together in persona episcopi .
