Nicholas Evans (born July 26, 1950 in Bromsgrove , Worcestershire , England ) is an English journalist and writer who wrote an international bestseller with the novel The Horse Whisperer .

Life

Evans lived in Africa for a while and then studied journalism at Oxford University . Today he lives in Devon (England) .

His novel The Horse Whisperer was for years an international bestseller and was founded in 1998 by Robert Redford filmed , who also plays the title role in the film.

In September 2008, Evans suffered severe poisoning from eating a mushroom dish with pointed hunched rock heads , when the sequelae of which he had to have a kidney transplant for his daughter in 2011 .
