Nicholas Mosley, 3rd Baron Ravensdale, 7th Baronet MC FRSL (born June 25, 1923 in London , † February 28, 2017 there ) was a British peer and writer .

life and career

Mosley was born on June 25, 1923 to Cynthia Blanche Curzon and the British fascist leader Sir Oswald Mosley . Diana Mosley was his stepmother. He attended Eton College and then studied at Balliol College of Oxford University . During World War II he was used in Italy, among other places, and was awarded the Military Cross .

Mosley inherited the title of Baron Ravensdale in 1966 from his aunt Mary Irene Curzon, 2nd Baroness Ravensdale . He inherited the title of baronet from his father in 1980. In later years he was a sharp critic of his father, about whom he wrote a two-volume biography.

Mosley lost his seat in the House of Lords in 1999 under the House of Lords Act 1999 . He lived in London until his death in February 2017.

family

Mosley was married twice and had five children. Max Mosley , President of the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), was his half-brother. His heir is his grandson Daniel Mosley, 4th Baron Ravensdale (* 1982).
