Nick Sillitoe

Nicholas "Nick" Sillitoe (born September 1971 in London ) is an English DJ , jazz musician and composer.

Sillitoe received his musical training at St. Paul's Cathedral Choir School and performed as a boy soprano at the English National Opera and the Royal Opera House between 1982 and 1985 . In 1983, at the age of twelve, he recorded the album On the Wings of Song for EMI Classics. In the early 1990s he worked with the London group United Sound System .

In 1994 he went to Oslo, where he founded the group Illumination with Per Martinssen . While the duo produce their own music as Illumination , they record remixes of various jazz tracks under the name Chilluminati . Her adaptation of Bugge Wesseltoft's Existence appeared on Café de Mar album No. 6, and the remix by Mari Boines Gula Gula appeared on album No. 8 . Further remix recordings were made by Nils Petter Molværs Vilderness , Bugge Wesseltofts Change and the pieces Superstrings and Emphatic Guitar by Eivind Aarset . In 2000 the duo released the album This is Illumination , and in 2004 The Chilluminati Remixes .

Sillitoe also works as a music producer and composer for film and television, where he was awarded the Norwegian film award Amanda for Best Music for his music for the mystery drama Dirk Ohm - Illusjonisten som forsvant , published in 2015 . He also released the album Candy Thunder with his wife, Velvet Belly singer Anne Marie Almedal .
