Nico Keinath

Nico Keinath (born January 14, 1987 in Tübingen ) is a former German road cyclist .

Career

Nico Keinath drove the end of the 2006 season at the German ProTeam Gerolsteiner as a trainee and was from 2007 a place at Team Ista , the farm team Gerolsteiner. At the end of 2008 he drove back to Gerolsteiner as a stagiare, but since the team was dissolved he switched to the Swiss Continental Team Nazionale Elettronica New Slot-Hadimec . In his first year there, he finished second overall at the Coupe des Nations Ville Saguenay and won a stage at the Tell Grand Prix . At the Tour de l'Avenir , Keinath finished second behind Dennis van Winden in the last part of the stage and he won the mountain classification. For the 2010 season, Keinath received a contract with Team NetApp . Halfway through the season, he would have had to undergo an operation because of a kinked artery in his right leg and would have been out for the rest of the season. However, the team management did not accept this and terminated his contract. Keinath therefore had to end his professional career at the age of 23.

At the beginning of the 2012 season, he became sporting director at the Team Specialized Concept Store and then at the MLP Team Bergstrasse .
