The District Court Šiauliai ( lit.Siaulių apygardos teismas ) is the fourth largest of the five Apygardos teismas in Lithuania . The seat is in the northern Lithuanian city of Šiauliai (126,000 inhabitants).

structure

There are two sections: one for criminal cases (Chair Irena Ivanovienė) and one for civil cases (Chair Petras Rimantas Brazys).

Court presidents

Boleslovas Kalainis (* 1959) has been the court chairman since 2001 .

history

The Šiauliai Court District was established in 1775 with the Seimas Law of the Republic of Both Nations . In the Soviet era of the Lithuanian SSR there was a district people's court.
