Nico Weißmann (born April 14, 1980 in Saarbrücken ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

Nico Weißmann played in his youth for FSV Lauterbach and 1. FC Saarbrücken . From Saarbrücken he then moved to SV Wehen Wiesbaden for the 2001/02 season and for the 2003/04 season he went back to 1. FC Saarbrücken . There he was deported to the second team and therefore moved to FK Pirmasens in 2005 and two years later to the amateurs of 1. FC Kaiserslautern .

He finally moved back to 1. FC Saarbrücken for the 2008/09 season and played there in the league team in the fifth division. The 1. FC Saarbrücken managed to march straight through to the third division under Dieter Ferner after two relegations in a row in the next two years. While Weißmann played a key role in the successful years in the Oberliga and Regionalliga West as a high-performing regular employee, he no longer played a role in the third division under the new coach Jürgen Luginger .

In 2011 he moved to FC Homburg . After a year at Borussia Neunkirchen , he played at SV Auersmacher until the 2015/16 winter break and then moved to Sportfreunde Köllerbach . Weissmann has only played in the 2nd team here since 2017. He ended his career there in January 2017.

Outside of his sporting career, he works at the Gymnasium am Krebsberg in Neunkirchen (Saar) as a teacher for the subjects German, Catholic religion and sport, in which he is also head of department.
