Career

Beginnings in Uruguay

Nicolás Amodio learned to play football in the youth of Defensor Sporting Club in Uruguay as a midfielder. In the seasons 2003 and 2004 he completed 18 (one goal) and two (no goal) first division games for Defensor Sporting.

Change to Europe

In 2004 he moved to Italy to SS Sambenedettese Calcio , where he played in Serie C1 , the third highest Italian league. Amodio made 30 appearances and scored a goal for Sambenedettese Calcio. In that season he achieved 4th place in Serie C with the club , which entitles him to participate in the playoff games for promotion to Serie B. In these games, the club was defeated by SSC Napoli and missed promotion. In the summer of 2005, the midfielder was transferred to the then league rivals SSC Napoli. In the following two years, Amodio made it through to Serie A with Napoli . He completed it 52 of 76 possible games for Napoli, in which he remained without a goal. For the 2007/08 season the club loaned him to the FBC Treviso . Amodio could not play in the regular lineup there and only played nine league games. The next loan followed in mid-January 2008: This time Amodio played temporarily for AC Mantova . After that, the Uruguayan midfielder returned to SSC Napoli. At Napoli, which had now established itself in Serie A, he has only made three appearances in the Italian championship due to the strong competition since summer 2008. On January 29, 2010 the SSC Napoli announced a loan to the Serie B club Piacenza Calcio until the end of the season . In August 2010 he was given on loan to the second division team Calcio Portogruaro Summaga .

Return to Uruguay

After eight years in Europe, he returned to Uruguay in July 2011 and joined Peñarol . With the Aurinegros, he made five appearances in the Primera División and two appearances in the 2012 Copa Libertadores in the 2011/12 season . In August 2012 it was reported that Peñarol was keen to terminate the contract with the player, which ran until December 31, 2012. In May 2013, Amodio's contract ended on June 30, 2013. That year he moved back to Italy, where he joined US Lecce . In the 2013/14 season, depending on the sources, he played 25 league games or 23 league games plus 3 games in the play-offs in Lega Pro 1 and scored two goals. He was also used in a game of Coppa Italia. He then moved to Martina Franca on loan in 1947 . In the 2014/15 season he made eleven appearances (no goal) in the Lega Pro until his last appearance on April 22, 2015 . After the end of the season (as of July 9, 2017), no further members of the management team have been recorded.
