Nicola Conforto

Nicola Conforto (also: Nicolò Conforti ; born September 25, 1718 in Naples , † March 17, 1793 in Aranjuez ) was an Italian composer of the Neapolitan school .

Conforto lived and worked mainly in Madrid during his creative period . He was a student of the Italian composers Francesco Mancini and Domenico Fischietti (1725-1810). Conforto joined the Spanish royal court after he played music on King Ferdinand VI's name day . composed.

Most of his operas were performed in Spain, the librettos were often bilingual, Italian and Spanish. In addition to the stage works, Conforto composed several cantatas, 9 lamenti , numerous arias, duets and terzets, as well as some symphonies.
