Nicolae Cioroiu

Nicolae Cioroiu (* 1908 ; † 1974 ) was a Romanian diplomat .

Career

Until June 22, 1948 he was chargé d'affaires in Rome . From September 11, 1949 to January 1950, he was envoy in Tel Aviv . From July 13, 1950 to 1952, he was Ambassador to the Court of St James’s . From 1952 to 1956, after Ana Pauker was dismissed , he was Deputy Foreign Minister.

From 1956 to 1957 he was ambassador to Beijing with co-accreditation in Hanoi . From 1957 to 1961 he was ambassador to New Delhi . In 1971 he became director of the RKP History Museum . In 1974 the Securitate noticed that it was maintaining "unofficial contacts" with diplomats accredited in Bucharest or making "inappropriate remarks" about the party leadership.
