Iacob Coțoveanu

Iacob Coţoveanu (born October 8, 1915 in Roman (Romania) , † 2001 in Bucharest ) was a Romanian diplomat .

Career

In 1934 he became a member of the Uniunea Tineretului Comunist din România (UTCdR youth organization of the Romanian Communist Party) and in 1936 a member of the Romanian Communist Party . From 1937 to 1941 he was an employee of the International Red Aid . From 1945 he was secretary at the umbrella organization of the Romanian trade unions. From 1952 to 1955 he was ambassador to Beijing. From 1955 to 1956 he was ambassador to Hanoi . In 1958 he was expelled from the party and worked from 1958 to 1964 as a locomotive inspector in the Căile Ferate Române depot Bucharest-Calatori. In 1964 he was re-accepted into the party and his entry was dated 1945.
