Nicolae Mitea (born March 24, 1985 in Bucharest ) is a former Romanian football player . He played a total of 80 games in the Romanian League 1 and the Dutch Eredivisie . In 2004 he won the Dutch championship with Ajax Amsterdam .
Career
Mitea began his professional career in the 2002/03 season at Dinamo Bucharest , with whom he immediately won the Romanian Cup. The following year he moved to Ajax Amsterdam . Here he was able to contribute to winning the Dutch championship title in 2004 with seven goals in 23 games . In the following years, however, he was unable to prevail at Ajax due to weakness in form and repeated minor injuries and played no role in the plans of coach Henk ten Cate and later in those of his successors Adrie Koster and Marco van Basten .
Nicolae Mitea then signed a four-year contract with his former club Dinamo Bucharest in 2008, but broke it up after just one year. He was then without a club for a year before the Greek club Ionikos Nikea signed him , who played in the second-rate Football League . In the summer of 2011 he returned to Romania, where he was hired by newly promoted Petrolul Ploieşti . From January 2012 to summer 2013 he was again without a club before first division club CS Concordia Chiajna signed him. There he was not used in the first half of the 2013/14 season . In early 2014, his contract was terminated and Mitea ended his career.
