Nicolae Roșu

Nicolae Roșu (born September 1, 1943 in Bucharest ) is a German-Romanian sculptor. His works can be found in public spaces, museums and private collections in several countries.

Roșu studied sculpture under Rudolf Bedy at the Nicolae Grigorescu Art Academy in Bucharest from 1962 to 1968 . He then worked for two years as a teacher at a grammar school in Giurgiu . In 1973 he left Romania and settled in Straubing . In the following years he worked as an art teacher at high schools in Passau , Zwiesel , Tirschenreuth , Metten and Neutraubling . In 1981 he took on German citizenship.

  • 1957: Third prize at the amateur artist exhibition, Bucharest
  • 1969–1971: Friedrich Storck Scholarship, Bucharest
  • 1970: Prize for sculpture from the Association of Visual Artists "Gruppe Magura", Romania
