Nicolas Bachelier

Nicolas Bachelier (spr. Baschljeh) (* 1487 in Arras , † 1556 in Toulouse ) was a French architect and sculptor .

Nicolas Bachelier trained in Italy after Michelangelo until 1510 and after his return worked mainly in Toulouse. He built churches and palaces there and in the surrounding area and was one of the first to introduce the Renaissance style to southern France.

He and his son Dominique Bachelier worked at the Pont Neuf de Toulouse, among others.
