Career

After his youth career at Yverdon-Sport FC and FC Sion , among others , Beney began his professional career at the former club. He later played in Schaffhausen and at FC Sion. With FC Wil he rose to the NLA and was 2004 cup winner. In the final against the Grasshoppers , Beney was absent due to an injury. He later played for Vaduz, Yverdon, Aarau and Baulmes before moving back to Sion. There he played mostly in the second team, was often only a substitute in the first team and ended his career in 2010. In 2009, he led FC Sion to the cup final with two saved penalties in a penalty shootout. The Sion team finally won this, but without Beney, who was only a substitute goalkeeper at the time.
