Julius Voldemar Piperal (born October 4, 1900 in Tallinn , Estonia Governorate , † November 23, 1942 in Molotow , Soviet Union ) was an Estonian football and ice hockey player .

Career

In 1923 Voldemar Piperal joined the JK Tallinna Kalev from the state capital Tallinn . From 1925 he played for the football team of the sports club, with which he won the Estonian championship in 1930 . He won the only championship in football together with players like: Erich Altosaar , Arnold Eentamm , Aleksander Kalvet , Heinrich Koort , Feliks Kull , Egon Parbo , Alfred Ratnik , Heino Roomere and Eino Uuli and others.

For the Estonian national soccer team Piperal played in ten international matches from 1927 to 1929, including a game during the Baltic Cup in 1928 against Latvia in the Kadrioru stadium in Tallinn.

With the ice hockey team of JK Tallinna Kalev, he won the first ice hockey championship that was played in Estonia in 1934.

death

Voldemar Piperal , like many other Estonians , was deported to the Stalinist gulag system between 1940 and 1941 after the Soviet occupation of Estonia in World War II . He was arrested in June 1941 and sentenced to ten years in prison. He died on November 23, 1942 at the age of 42 in a prisoner-of-war camp in the Soviet city of Molotov, today's Perm.
