Egon Parbo (* April 2 . Jul / 15. April 1910 greg. In Tallinn , Governorate of Estonia ; † 24. April 1942 in the Sverdlovsk region , Soviet Union ) was an Estonian football - and basketball player .
Career
Egon Parbo was born in Tallinn, the capital of the Estonian governorate , in 1910 as the son of Jaan Parbo (1876–1920) and his wife Ann (a) Parbo (born Rehfeldt 1877–1961). He had three brothers Elmar (1908–1968), Hermann (1913–1984) and Leo (n) (1914–1920).
At the age of 15, Egon Parbo joined his first sports club. In 1927 he graduated from Jakob Westholmi Gümnaasium in Tallinn. In the early 1930s Parbo began his football career as a midfielder with JK Tallinna Kalev . In the first season in 1930 he won the championship with the team. In the same year Parbo won the title with the club's basketball team, as well as a year later. From 1933 he played for JS Estonia Tallinn with whom he won the Estonian championship six times.
In July 1931 Parbo made his debut in the Estonian national team against Latvia in Riga. In his third international match against Lithuania in June 1934, he scored the first and only goal in the national jersey.
Parbo took part in qualifying games for the 1934 World Cup , as well as in qualifying for the 3rd World Cup in 1938 . With the selection of his home country, he won the Baltic Cup at the 1938 edition .
Egon Parbo made a total of 24 appearances for Estonia's national soccer team, scoring 1 goal.
Private life
Egon Parbo worked for the Estonian police in his private life .

Egon Parbo , like many other Estonians , was deported to the Stalinist Gulag system between 1940 and 1941 after the Soviet occupation of Estonia in World War II . He died in the Soviet Sverdlovsk region at the age of 32 .
