Nicolas François Conroux, Baron de Pépinville (born February 17, 1770 in Douai , † November 11, 1813 in Bayonne ) was a French general de division of the infantry .

Life

At the age of 16, Nicolas Conroux was enrolled in the army in 1786 and was promoted to officer six years later.

He distinguished himself in the two battles for Arlon (June 9, 1793 and April 17/18, 1794) and Fleurus (June 26, 1796). He took part in the battles at Valvasone and in 1798 off Naples.

After the Battle of Austerlitz (December 2, 1805), Conroux was promoted to Général de brigade for his bravery . As such, he took part in the battles near Heilsberg (June 10, 1807), Friedland (June 14, 1807), Aspern (May 21/22, 1809) and Wagram (June 5/6, 1809).

Conroux fought in the Napoleonic Wars on the Iberian Peninsula a . a. near Oñoro (May 3-4, 1811), Vitoria (June 21, 1813) and Nivelle (November 10, 1813). In the latter he was seriously wounded and died the next day in the field hospital.
