Nicolas Grundmann

Nicolas Grundmann (born February 16, 1977 ) is a German basketball official and former player.

career

Grundmann played in the youth team of BG '89 Rotenburg / Scheeßel , became German youth champions with Lower Saxony and made it into the German national junior team in the early 1990s. From 1996 to 2003, the 1.87-meter-tall winger was part of the second division team Wolfenbüttel . During this time, in addition to his basketball career, he completed a degree in sports management at the Braunschweig / Wolfenbüttel University of Applied Sciences , which he completed with a degree in business administration.

After the end of his playing days in 2003, Grundmann took over the position of managing director of the 2. Basketball Bundesliga working group and from 2010 was managing director of the newly founded operating company of the 2. Basketball Bundesliga. He held this post until the end of June 2013. In the summer of 2014 he became managing director of the Dukes Wolfenbüttel and after a year switched to the Bundesliga club Basketball Löwen Braunschweig , where he took up the position of assistant to the management with a focus on marketing and sponsoring. In this office he was also given the task of coordinating the cooperation between the Lions and Dukes, so that despite his official move to Braunschweig, in addition to his duties for the Basketball Lions, he continued to work as the Dukes' Bundesliga commissioner for Wolfenbüttel.
