Nicolas Testé

Nicolas Testé (* 1970 in Paris ) is a French concert, lied and opera singer with a bass and baritone voice .

Biography and artistic career

Testé first studied piano, bassoon and music history in Paris. He completed his vocal training at the Opéra National de Paris and the Center de Formation Lyrique . In 1998 he won second place in the Voix Nouvelles singing competition . The artist sang and sings on the major opera stages in Milan, Munich, Leipzig, Geneva, Lyon, Berlin, Antwerp, Vienna, New York etc. His role repertoire includes: Léandro ( The love of the three oranges ), Ferrando ( Il trovatore ) , Masetto ( Don Giovanni ), Angelotti ( Tosca ), Colline ( La Bohème ) and Agamemnon ( Iphigénie en Aulide ) a. a. m. In 2014 he and his wife appeared in Lotte de Beer's much-discussed production of Les pêcheurs de perles at the Theater an der Wien .

In addition to his stage presence, Testé is active as a lieder and concert singer. In this regard, he works with conductors such as John Eliot Gardiner , Emmanuel Krivine , Charles Mackerras , Heiko Mathias Förster and Pinchas Steinberg .

The singer has been married to the soprano Diana Damrau since May 2010 , the couple have two children.
