Nicole Lévêque

Nicole Lévêque (born January 27, 1951 in Nuillé-sur-Vicoin ) is a former French long-distance runner .

She achieved her success at an age when most athletes ended their careers. In 1994 she was over 10,000 m French champion and eleventh at the European Athletics Championships in Helsinki . Then she became national champion in the half marathon , not only set the current course record at 1:11:35 h at the Auray - Vannes half marathon , but also a world best time for the W40 age group, which lasted until 2007, and came at the World Half Marathon Championships in Oslo on 15th place.

The following year she finished 27th at the World Half Marathon Championships in Montbéliard .

In 1998 she qualified as French runner-up in the marathon for the European Athletics Championships in Budapest , where she came in 22nd. At the age of 47 she was the oldest starter at this event until the Slovenian Merlene Ottey took part in 2010.

Nicole Lévêque started for the US Laval association.
