Initially, Nicole Morello dealt exclusively with book objects. These include art books with penguin colonies. With “Slide Fragments” the artist initiated an art project in which she encouraged people to participate. This creates community work in which many people participate with their texts. If the artist worked more figuratively with her book objects at the beginning, more and more works were created that are abstract. A research stay at Papeterie de Vaux, Dordogne, inspired her to do a video work on an art book that stands out for its lavish colors and shapes. Stimulated by these colors and the noises that arise when leafing through the paper , a video with a dance performance by the choreographer Lorena Dozio was created. Morello has shown her work in solo and group exhibitions, and her books are in collections and museums.
