Nicoletta Vittoria Spezzati (born April 28, 1948 in San Severo ) is an Italian nun . She belongs to the Order of the Adoration Sisters of the Blood of Christ (ASC).

Life

Nicoletta Vittoria Spezzati holds degrees in communication studies from the LUMSA in Rome and in humanities with a major in critical history from the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan . With a thesis on Analisi dei Fenomeni Religiosi nelle culture della comunicazione mediatica ( analysis of religious phenomena in cultures of media communication ) she received her doctorate at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore .

She became an expert in spiritual theology at the Pontifical University of Teresianum and obtained a diploma in Counseling Training Human at the Pontifical Lateran University and as a postulator in the XXIV study of the Congregation for the Causes of the Saints .

She has held various positions in her Order: Provincial (1989–1995), Director of the International Study Center (ASC CIS) in Rome (1995–2000), national responsible for basic training (1995–2005), head of the National Commission for Restructuring of the Italian provinces of the ASC (2000–2005), postulator of the Missionaries of the Precious Blood , since 2007 director of national and international courses and seminars and consultant for formation, formator and trainer on the subjects of spirituality and consecrated life , member of the historical congregation the ASC.

She also took on several services in the Italian Bishops' Conference and the Conference of Sisters, in ecclesiastical bodies and international congregations.

Since 2002 she has been visiting professor at the Pontifical Lateran University and the Claretianum (ITVC) in Rome for thematic courses on consecrated life and training in the philosophy of cultures and languages ​​of communication . Since 2006 she has been a member of the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life . Pope Benedict XVI appointed her on December 17, 2011 as undersecretary of the same. She held this position until 2018.

From 2000 to 2010 she was Professor of Methodology in Cultural Processes at the Faculty of Education for the Degree in Sociocultural and Intercultural Education at the University of Bari and Professor of Socio-Cultural Design at the Scuola Superiore di Specializzazione Interateneo (SSIS) at the same university. She was also involved in the research of the Società Italiana di Pedagogia.

From 2001 to 2005 she was visiting professor for the history and criticism of religious cinema at the Scuola di Comunicazione, ISSR Odegitria , the Theological Faculty of Apulia . She published various writings on topics of spirituality and education.

Pope Francis appointed her Consultor of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints on August 1, 2020 .
