Nicotiana knightiana is a plant type from the genus tobacco ( Nicotiana ) from the family of the nightshade family (Solanaceae). The species is common in Peru .
description
Nicotiana knightiana is a mostly perennial plant that is slightly woody. The plants grow bushy and have a lot of leaves. The inflorescences are panicles that are longer than wide. The flower stalks are 3 to 4 mm long and extend to 5 to 8 mm on the fruit. The calyx is cylindrical, narrowed at the base, the membranes between the calyx tips are often long, narrowly keeled. The calyx lobes themselves are broadly triangular. The crown is pale yellow-green to ash-colored and hairy with short silky trichomes . The coronet is dark green, velvety and slightly merging into five almost cut off, often prickly-pointed corolla lobes. The stamens have slightly curved stamens .
The capsule is broadly ovate and 6 to 10 mm long.
The number of chromosomes is 2n = 24.
