Nicotiana sect. Noctiflorae is a section of the tobacco genus ( Nicotiana ). Six species are counted to it.

description

The species of the Noctiflorae section are annual or perennial herbaceous plants or small trees . The leaves are sessile or stalked, finely downy to sticky hairy . Most of the leaves have a whitish tint. The leaf margin is often irregularly nicked or curled.

The flowers open either during the day or at night. The crown is radially symmetrical, tubular to salver plate and can be colored red, yellow or white. The corolla tube is straight or widened towards the tip. The corolla lobes are usually rounded.

The number of chromosomes is n = 12.
