history
The family company was founded in 1887 by Henri Nidecker in Etoy . In 1897 it was moved to the neighboring Rolle, at that time it manufactured wagon wheels, ladders and wheelbarrows.
The first skis were produced in 1912 , first from solid ash, then from glued wood (1946), from metal (1962) and fiberglass (1963). Cross-country skis and from 1982 monoski were also produced.
At the end of the 1970s, Henri-Philippe Nidecker invented a cross-country ski in which the anti-slip protection made of strips of fur can be replaced with a flat sole surface.
The first snowboards were manufactured in 1984 and series production has been running since 1986. Soon afterwards the company specialized in this product. The factory burned down on October 5, 1993, and a state-of-the-art snowboard factory was built in 1994.
In the 1990s, the company built a factory in Tunisia for mass production .
After Henri Nidecker (founder), Charles-Henri Nidecker and Henri-Philippe Nidecker, Henri Nidecker (4th generation) is now running the company. Henry Nidecker (5th generation) also works in the company.
