Niels Kokmeijer

Niels Kokmeijer (born December 30, 1977 in Uitgeest ) is a former football player from the Netherlands .

After a brutal foul by Rachid Bouaouzan in the game against Sparta Rotterdam on December 17, 2004, he had to end his career due to a complicated broken leg and the Dutch Football Association suspended Rachid Bouaouzan for twelve games. He was also sentenced to six months in prison. With this ruling, the Supreme Court in the Netherlands has issued a landmark judgment for professional sport.
