Nienstedt (desert)
Nienstedt is a desert near Gerbstedt in Saxony-Anhalt . It was a very large village, according to the chronicler Cyriacus Spangenberg it was "quite a town" .
location
Nienstedt was in Kreuzgrund, a cut into the landscape west of Heiligenthal . The lifeline was probably the very water-rich, but dried up Sohlbach in 1826, which flowed into the Schlenze after Heiligenthal .
history
- In a register of the tithes of the Hersfeld monastery that was created between 881 and 899, a tithing place in the Gau Friesenfeld is named under the name Niustat , which was probably the later Nienstedt desert or the current Nienstedt near Allstedt or the Neustädt desert .
- Around 973 the place Nienstedi was ceded to the Archbishopric of Magdeburg together with other possessions of the Fulda abbot Werinher .
- 1140 belonged to the locality a hoof, which paid 6 shillings to the cathedral chapter of Magdeburg, and 12 more hooves, which paid a total of 10 shillings, which paid to the provost of the Magdeburg Sebastianstift. These goods were part of an exchange deal with the Count von Mansfeld .
- In 1264 the lords of Friedeburg donated three hooves in Neustede to the nunnery in Wiederstedt .
- In 1283 the people's priest was called Heinrich, and he was in office until 1299.
- In 1296 the citizens of Nienstet fought violently with the monastery in Wiederstedt over the tithe .
In the centuries that followed, the monasteries drove the nobility out of the land in the village, and Nienstedt was inhabited until the 15th century, when it became desolate. Today nothing can be seen of the place.
