Heiligenthal is a district of the city of Gerbstedt in the eastern district of Mansfeld-Südharz in Saxony-Anhalt , Germany.

Geographical location

Heiligenthal is located approx. 3 km south of Gerbstedt and approx. 11 km northeast of Lutherstadt Eisleben . In Heiligenthal, the Stohlbach flows into the Schlenze river , which runs through the village and through the two districts.

The districts of Heiligenthal, Helmsdorf and Lochwitz belong to the village of Heiligenthal .

history

Until 1931 the community of Heiligenthal was still called Heiligenthal-Helmsdorf .

On January 5, 2010, the municipal council of the municipality of Heiligenthal decided that the municipality of Heiligenthal should be incorporated into the unified municipality of Gerbstedt. This contract was approved by the county as the lower local supervisory authority and came into effect on January 24, 2010.

After the previously independent municipality of Heiligenthal has been incorporated, Heiligenthal, Helmsdorf and Lochwitz become districts of the city of Gerbstedt. For the incorporated municipality, the local constitution according to §§ 86 ff. Of the municipality code of Saxony-Anhalt is introduced. The incorporated municipality of Heiligenthal and the future districts of Heiligenthal, Helmsdorf and Lochwitz will become the locality of the receiving city of Gerbstedt. A local council with a local mayor is formed in the incorporated municipality and now the village of Heiligenthal.

Buildings

The town's landmark is the late Romanesque St. Andrew's Church . The listed town center is largely shaped by the Sedelhof , a former manor.

To the federal highway 180 , which connects Aschersleben and Naumburg (Saale) , it is about seven kilometers to the west. The nearest train stations are Belleben on the Halle – Halberstadt line and Hettstedt on the Berlin-Blankenheimer Eisenbahn (each eleven kilometers away) and Lutherstadt Eisleben on the Halle – Kassel connection (14 kilometers away). The bus routes 366 and 401 operated by the Südharz transport company connect Heiligenthal with Eisleben and Hettstedt, and passenger transport to the latter city ended in 1998 .

The theologian Ferdinand Huhold (1802–1880) was born in Heiligenthal .

Others

The district of Helmsdorf is best known for a prince's grave of the Aunjetitz culture , which dendrochronologically dates back to 1840 BC. Was dated.
