Nierembergia micrantha is a plant type from the type of the white mug ( Nierembergia ) in the family of the nightshade family (Solanaceae).

description

Nierembergia micrantha is a tiny, upright or prostrate herbaceous plant . Ascending stems grow up to 20 cm high, they do not take root. The internodes are up to 52 mm long. Lower leaves and the cotyledons are about 18 mm long and 3.5 to 7 mm wide, higher lying leaves are linear and 22 to 24 mm long, and 1.2 to 2 mm wide.

The flowers are on an approximately 2 mm long peduncle . The calyx is 12.6 to 16.4 mm long and set with linear lobes with a length of 7.4 to 10 mm. The small crowns measure 7 to 8 (rarely only 6) mm in diameter at the coronary hem, the corolla tube is 8 to 10 mm long and is therefore shorter or as long as the calyx. The stamens are bent together, three of them are shorter, the other two are longer. The stigma is crescent-shaped and is enclosed by large stamens almost up to the level of the anthers.

The calyx is greatly enlarged on the fruit.

Occurrence

The species occurs in southeastern Brazil and northeastern Argentina . It grows in damp hollows.
