Nigel Marven (born November 27, 1960 in the London Borough of Barnet , London , England ) is a British zoologist .

Life

Marven studied zoology and botany at the University of Bristol .

Nigel Marven has a reputation for not being squeamish, for example he considers scars from animal bites and cuts as awards. This is why he is often compared to the crocodile hunter Steve Irwin .

Marven is mainly known for his appearances as a zoologist on a journey through time in the BBC documentaries In the Empire of Giants and Monsters of the Deep or Prehistoric Park - Extinction was yesterday . He also appeared in many other zoological television programs. In 2009 he received a guest appearance on Primeval - Return of the Primeval Monsters . He was attacked by a Giganotosaurus .

In 2008 he ran the London Marathon in 4 hours and 4 minutes to win money for the Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society .

He is currently the host of the Deadly Snakes ( Ten Deadliest Snakes ).
