Niklas Köck (born February 1, 1992 ) is an Austrian ski racer . He is particularly successful in the Downhill , Super-G and Combined disciplines .

biography

Köck contested his first FIS race in 2007. From the 2011 season he started in the European Cup . Here he achieved his first podium in February 2013 in the Super-G of Sarntal . In the years that followed, he made it onto the podium three more times. A victory has so far been denied him. In the 2016/17 European Cup season , Köck reached 2nd place in the overall Super-G ranking, thus securing a permanent place in this discipline for the 2017/18 World Cup season .

Niklas Köck took part in two Junior World Championships . At the Junior World Championship in 2013 he just missed a medal with fourth place in the Super-G. On January 22, 2016, Köck made his debut in the Alpine Ski World Cup . In the combination in Kitzbühel he was able to place himself in the points ranks with 22nd place. His best World Cup result so far is 11th place in the downhill run from Val Gardena on December 15, 2017. Only two and a half weeks later he tore a cruciate ligament and meniscus during training in Saalbach-Hinterglemm , which ended the season prematurely for him.
