Nikodim Siliwanowitsch (born December 25, 1834 in the powiat Vilejka , Vilnius Governorate , † May 21, 1919 ) was a Belarusian painter.

Life

1854 graduated Silivanowitsch primary school maladzyechna . In 1855 he was sent to Petersburg by an estate owner because of his talent for painting . From 1856 to 1863 Silivanowitsch graduated from the Russian Art Academy and became a painter. From 1864 to 1866 he lived in Vilnius and worked in his workshop.

In 1866 he got the title of 3rd class painter and studied mosaics at the academy. In 1870 Silivanowitsch became a 2nd class painter and graduated from the mosaic department of the Academy. In 1874 he became a 1st class mosaic painter. From 1885 to 1889 he worked at the Art Academy in Peterburg. His work has been exhibited in Berlin , Copenhagen , Moscow , Peterburg, Paris , Vilnius . From 1883 to 1885 he took photos in Birštonas in the summer . From 1901 after the death of his wife he lived in Birštonas. From 1911 he lived in Prienai .

In 1988 Draugystės Street was renamed Silvanavičius Street and in 2000 the Sacral Museum with pictures by the painter was established in Birštonas.

His paintings are in the Lithuanian towns of Nemajūnai , Punia , Stakliškės , Jieznas .
