Nikola Marinov

Nikola Marinow , actually Nikola Marinow Abadshiew , ( Bulgarian Никола Маринов ; born July 10, 1879 in Targovishte , † December 16, 1948 in Sofia ) was a Bulgarian painter.

Life

Marinow graduated from the Turin Art Academy in 1903 . From 1921 he was a professor at the Art Academy in Sofia .

In his work he dedicated himself in particular to portraits and landscapes. However, he also painted icons and murals, whereby he was committed to realistic traditions. Among other things, he created frescoes for the Uspenie Bogorodiza church in Popowo .
