Nikola Vuljanic

Nikola Vuljanić (born June 25, 1949 in Karlovac ) is a Croatian politician.

Life

Nikola Vuljanić studied English and South Slavic studies at the University of Zagreb from 1968 to 1973 . Then he was an English teacher at the grammar school and textile school in Duga Resa . At the Polytechnic Zagreb (Tehničko veleučilište u Zagrebu) founded in 1998, he became head of the design department. In addition, from 2003 he was a lecturer in technical English at the Faculty of Textile Technology at the University of Zagreb.

He belonged to the Hrvatska narodna stranka - Liberalni Demokratiei (HNS) and was a member of the Croatian Parliament from 2003 to 2007 . He then left the HNS and joined the Hrvatski laburisti - Stranka rada party . In 2011 he was re-elected to parliament. Before Croatia's accession to the EU, the Croatian Parliament sent him to the European Parliament as an observer . In the European elections in Croatia in 2013 , he was elected as the only member of his party in the European Parliament. He then resigned his mandate in the Croatian Parliament. In the European Parliament he was a member of the Confederal Group of the European United Left / Nordic Green Left . In the 2014 European elections , his party was unable to win a seat in the European Parliament, so he is no longer a member.
