European elections in Croatia 2014
The 2014 European elections in Croatia were the second direct election of members of the European Parliament from Croatia. It took place on May 25, 2014.
Croatia joined the European Union on July 1, 2013 . On April 14, 2013, the first European elections took place in Croatia . In the 2014 election, the number of Croatian MPs decreased from twelve to eleven.
Electoral system
Eleven MPs are elected nationwide with a preferential voting system.
Starting position
In the 2013 election, 28 lists ran, but only three lists won seats. The joint list of the conservative parties HDZ , HSP-AS and BUZ had six seats, with the chairwoman of the HSP-AS, Ruža Tomašić , winning one seat by preferential votes; the rest went to the HDZ. Five seats were lost to the joint list of the center-left parties SDP , HNS and HSU , all of which went to the SDP. The last seat went to the list of socialist HL .

According to the preliminary results, the turnout was 25.2%; the following percentages and seats were allocated to the lists:

- Alliance for Croatia 6.9%, 0 seats
- Hrvatski laburisti - Stranka rada 3.4%, 0 seats
- Partnership of the Croatian center 2.4%, 0 seats
19 other lists each achieved less than 1% (together 6.6%) and are not represented in the European Parliament.
