European elections in Belgium 2014
The 2014 European elections in Belgium took place on May 25, 2014 as part of the 2014 EU- wide European elections . In accordance with a constitutional reform, the 2014 parliamentary elections in Belgium were held on the same day . In Belgium, 21 of the 751 members of the European Parliament were elected, one less than in the last election in 2009 . The count itself was delayed due to technical problems.
Elections were made in three electoral areas: the Dutch-speaking electoral body elected twelve members, the French-language electoral body eight members and the German-language electoral body one member. In the elective areas, voting is carried out according to the principles of proportional representation without a blocking clause . There is compulsory voting .

Twelve seats were awarded in the Dutch-speaking electoral body. Seven parties competed:
- Christen-Democratisch en Vlaams (CD&V)
- Flemish Liberals and Democrats (Open VLD)
- Socialist Partij Anders (sp.a)
- Vlaams Belang (VB)
- Groen (Groen!)
- Nieuw-Vlaamse Alliantie (N-VA)
- Partij van de Arbeid (PVDA +)
French-speaking electoral body
Eight seats were awarded in the French-speaking electoral body. Twelve parties competed:
- Center Démocrate Humaniste (cdH)
- Mouvement Réformateur (MR)
- Parti Socialiste (PS)
- Ecolo
- Front démocratique des francophones (FDF)
- Parti du Travail de Belgique (PTB-go!)
- Parti Populaire
- Stand up for the United States of Europe (Stand Up USE)
- Mouvement de Gauche (MG)
- Coopérative politique VEGA (VEGA)
- La Droite
- Debout Les Belges
German-speaking electoral body
One seat was allocated in the German-speaking electoral body. Six parties competed:
- Christian Social Party (CSP)
- ProDG
- Party for Freedom and Progress (PFF)
- Socialist Party (SP)
- Ecolo
- Vivant
