European elections in the Netherlands 2014
The 2014 European elections in the Netherlands took place on May 22, 2014 as part of the 2014 EU- wide European elections . In the Netherlands, 26 of the 751 seats in the European Parliament were awarded.
Electoral system and eligible voters
The election is based on proportional representation with preferential votes in a nationwide constituency . There is the possibility of list connections . The allocation of mandates to the (connected) party lists is determined according to the D'Hondt method . The allocation of mandates to the various lists within a connection is calculated from the Hare / Niemeyer procedure .
