The 1984 European elections in the Netherlands took place on June 14, 1984. The Dutch elected 25 of the 434 members of the European Parliament .
Result
The strongest party was the Social Democratic PvdA with slight gains in votes, while the Christian Democratic CDA suffered slight losses. In addition to the liberal VVD, Green and Christian fundamentalist politicians were also able to move into the European Parliament for the first time. This was achieved through joint lists of several parties. The Groen Progressief Akkoord later became the GroenLinks party .
