Nikolai Alexejewitsch Kassatkin
Nikolai Alexeyevich Kassatkin ( Russian Николай Алексеевич Касаткин * December 13 . Jul / 25. December 1859 greg. In Moscow ; † 17th December 1930 ) was a Russian / Soviet painters .
Life
Kassatkin studied from 1873 to 1883 with Vasily Perov at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture and taught there from 1894 to 1917. He was a member of the group of Peredwischniki (Russian Wanderer ), one in the second half of the 19th century Saint Petersburg artists' association. In 1922 he joined the "Association of Artists of Revolutionary Russia" ( AchRR - Assoziazija chudoshnikow Rewoljuzionnoi Rossii ).
He first painted genre pictures and then devoted himself to the life pictures of workers and miners from the Donets Basin , e.g. B. buddy. Works such as The draft animal 1858 were created; Miner 1894; Shift change in 1895. These works were created under the influence of several trips to the Donets Basin and the Urals , which he undertook between 1892 and 1897. Under the impressions of the revolution of 1905/1907 he created pictures like workers' struggles in 1905; Workers storm a factory in 1906. With his works, he pioneered the style of socialist realism .
In the period from 1906 to 1910 he traveled to other European countries; these trips took him to Finland , Norway , Sweden , Italy and Turkey . After the October Revolution , Kassatkin took part in the cultural and social transformation of the country. He died in Moscow in 1930.
