Friedhelm Brebeck

Friedhelm Brebeck (born July 16, 1934 in Velbert ) is a German television journalist . He was the foreign correspondent for ARD .

Life

Friedhelm Brebeck completed a traineeship at the Westdeutsche Rundschau in Wuppertal in 1959 and then became an editor at the Rheinische Post in Düsseldorf . In 1963 he moved to Baden-Baden as a television editor for Südwestfunk . From 1970 to 1972 he was a member of the organizing committee of the 1972 Summer Olympics , where he headed the “Visual Design and Design” department.

Then Friedhelm Brebeck returned to television. From 1973 he worked as an editor and reporter for Bayerischer Rundfunk . In 1978 he became a correspondent for ARD in Tehran , after which he worked as a correspondent in Belgrade , Vienna , Tel Aviv , Istanbul , Sarajevo and most recently in Kosovo . For 19 years, Friedhelm Brebeck reported on the developments of countless political trouble spots in the Middle East . For his extraordinary contributions he was u. a. awarded the Grimme Special Prize and the Golden Camera . In 1992, Bayerischer Rundfunk named him chief reporter. In 1997 Brebeck was awarded the German Critics' Prize. Friedhelm Brebeck has been retired since 1999.
