Nikolai Ivanovich Arsenyev
Nikolai Ivanovich Arsenjew (Николай Иванович Арсеньев; born November 3, 1760 in Moscow , † February 8, 1830 in Moscow) was a descendant of the ancient Russian aristocracy Arsenyev . He was a real Councilor of State and Governor of the Courland Governorate in the Russian Empire .
Life
From 1796 to January 1797 he was Vice-Governor of the Volyn Governorate and took over the governorship of the Courland Governorate on October 20, 1800. In 1806 he was appointed to the Real Council of State. During his tenure, he hosted the French King Louis XVIII twice .
Origin and family
Nikolai von Arsenjew is the progenitor of the Russian and Baltic noble families. His father was the Real State Councilor Ivan Mikhailovich Arsenyev (1726–1799), who was registered in the Courland Knighthood . Nikolai was married to Princess Anna Chowansky (1765-1832). Her descendants were:
- Dmitri Nikolajewitsch Arsenjew (1789 to around 1852), chancellery head of the governor's government of Vologda
- Alexander Nikolajewitsch Arsenjew (Александр Николаевич Арсеньев; 1790-1852 in Moscow), Russian lieutenant colonel
