The Courland Knighthood was one of the four German-Baltic Knighthoods .

It originally consisted of two knighthoods. In 1809 the Kurländische and the Pilsen knighthood were united.

She is a member of the Association of the Baltic Knights .

The knight's house was in Mitau (Jelgava).

Affiliation

The nobility register was completed in 1620 and 1634 and included 115 families at that time. Today there are 304 entries in the Kurland register, covering 397 genders, 131 of which have survived to the present day.

Enrolled genders

Genders extinct within the knighthood are marked with (†). However, this does not necessarily mean that these are entirely, i.e. also outside of the Courland knighthood, in the male line. Furthermore, several lines, branches or houses of a family can be enrolled separately and independently of each other, which is why double answers occur.
