Bruiningk (noble family)
Bruiningk is the surname of an extinct German-Baltic noble family , which had lived in Narwa since 1660 and which became extinct in 1927. The family was accepted into the Livonian , Kurland and Ösel knighthood .
history
The ancestors of the Bruiningks probably came from Westphalia , they could have come to Lübeck at the end of the 16th to the beginning of the 17th century . There is documentary evidence that Heinrich Brüningk moved from Lübeck to Narva in 1660 and died there as a councilor in 1697 . A family connection to Adolf Brüning (1634 - 1702) cannot be ruled out. From his descendants, Axel Heinrich Bruiningk was raised to the imperial-Roman nobility on August 14, 1737 and in 1777 to the imperial baron status. Since the nobility diploma was not issued until 1777, he no longer experienced this ennoblement personally. In 1747 they received the Livonian indigenous community and existed until 1927.
